Macaron Day comes to Vancouver! March 20, 2012

Thank you for participating in Vancouver First Macaron Day! It was a huge success and we raised $400 for BC Children’s Hospital! Mark your calendars for March 20, 2013!
Traditionnally in France, March 20 is “le Jour du Macaron” (Macaron Day). Initiated by famous pastry chef Pierre Hermé, it is now celebrated worldwide and we decided it was about time to start the tradition in Vancouver as well!
On this specific day, we will give a free macaron to everyone who visits the store for Macaron Day! What’s the catch? Nothing, but we will have a donation box at the till and all the money raised on that day will go to support BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. We suggest a $2 donation but the amount is up to you, we trust Vancouverites’ natural generosity!
(While supplies last. We will bake a lot of macarons but since it’s the first year, we don’t know what to expect so better come early just in case!)

Spread the word and invite your friends, neighbours, colleagues, etc!
We’re teaming up with another French pastry shop near Quebec City, “Pâtisseries et Gourmandises d’Olivier“, to join forces in trying to make Macaron Day in Canada a big thing! We both share the love of quality artisanal French pastries and the desire to give back to the community. They will give the proceeds of their macarons sales to a local organization: Projektion 16-35.
