We’re very excited to participate in the second edition of Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival! Could you think of anything better to do in the heart of the winter than visiting 15 talented choco-olics all over town and warming yourself up with cups of artisanal hot chocolate? And these are not your typical hot chocolate either, check out the list of 50+ crazy flavours here!
We will serve a total of 5 different flavours during the festival (1 every day on a rotating basis): Praliné (Milk chocolate) , Yuzu (Dark Chocolate), Vanilla Chestnut (White Chocolate), Passion Fruit (Milk Chocolate), Earl Grey (Milk Chocolate). Full schedule with dates is available on the Festival’s website. If you come before the Festival, we’ll serve plain Hot Chocolate. Let us know which flavour(s) you like best and we’ll make sure to feature it again after the Festival!
If you needed more reasons to check it out: you’ll be making a good deed since the Festival will be supporting the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center, and scientific studies have proven that quality chocolate is a good anti-depressant! Much needed at this time of year don’t you think?
All our hot chocolates are homemade using imported Belgian chocolate and we have a hot chocolate dispenser that constantly stirs it and keeps it at the perfect sipping temperature! Be prepared for a rich and creamy decadent beverage! To balance it out, we’ll serve it with a light and airy meringue-based French macaron. Since most of our hot chocolate flavours were inspired by the ganaches we use as fillings for macarons, we suggest you match the beverage and the treat but if you feel adventurous, feel free to experiment different pairings!
Please note that we have very limited seating (6 chairs, it’s nice and cozy). If you want to come as a group and by the same occasion share a Galette des Rois (it’s “in season” until January 31!) with your Hot Chocolate-macaron, or order one to bring home, please let us know at least one day in advance and we’ll have it ready for you with a fève and crown!
For a list of participating stores, further information on the Festival and to download your “passport” that will give you the opportunity to enter to win a gift basket, please check out the official website and Facebook page.
