Summer temperatures are not quite there yet but outdoor markets season is, yay! We wish a happy anniversary to the Coquitlam market that is celebrating its 15th year of operation! We could not join on opening day last week but we’ll be there this Sunday, May 15. And if you just can’t wait to fill up on macarons and other treats, we’ll be at Lonsdale Quay Farmers’ Market on Saturday as well.
We are also very excited to participate in a new project in Coquitlam: the Tri-Cities Baker’s Community Market, at the Evergreen Cultural Centre. There will be 5 markets over the summer but we will only be able to attend to 3 of them: May 28, July 9 and August 6.
No surprises here, the name says it all: local bakers gather under one roof to sell artisan pastries and confectioneries and it’s a community event. There will be vendor spots reserved to ‘Young Bakers’, high school kids who enjoy baking and want to make some money out of their passion and family baking demos so parents and their children can learn tips from seasoned bakers to practice at home.
Big thanks to Kimberley from Kimberley’s Kitchen for putting this together. We look forward to meeting our fellow bakers Em’s Gems, Hearth & Larder, Something Sweet For You, Harmony Cakes, iBakery, Heather & Hunny, C & C Cakery, How Sweet It Is-Leanne Bakes, Mr Sprinkles and Sweet Temptation. Come visit the market on May 28 for the opening and spread the word!
