Make it! The Handmade Revolution

It seems like yesterday that we were doing our very first craft show ever, last year at Make it! Spring edition… Now, a year later, we have our own storefront and even created jobs with our small business! It hasn’t always been easy but this exciting venture is worth it and we’re grateful for the love and help we’ve received, starting by Jenna and Chandler’s, the producers of Make it! The Handmade Revolution fair who were the first ones to give us a chance to present our pastries to the public!

We are back for the 2012 edition and we’re excited to be a part of this great event again! It is very stimulating to spend 3 days around so many creative people and entrepreneurs and we’re looking forward to finding some one-of-a-kind items, natural skin care products and yummy treats!

Since the show ends just a few hours before a crucial game for the Vancouver Canucks, we thought you might need something to munch on while watching the game, something sweet to relieve the stress… sooo, we decided to bring back the Maca’nucks in our line-up until the end of the playoffs! This year, they are filled with a lime white chocolate ganache (goes well with beer ;))

They will be available only at Make it on Saturday (and Sunday if we’re not sold out before), not in the store. We believe the Canucks will win the game so we’ll bake more next week that we’ll have in the store this time!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We will also sell these at Make It: 6 flavours of macarons*, croissants (plain butter, chocolate, almond), canelés, madeleines, florentins, chocolate lava cakes and to die for chocolate-fleur de sel shortbread. The macarons, florentins and lava cakes are gluten free.

Starting now, we will have plain butter croissant every day in the store as well on top of the chocolate and almond ones. Watch out for summer variations later!

This week-end, the store will be open regular hours (10am to 6:30pm on Friday-Saturday, 11am-4:30pm on Sunday) and we’ll have the usual selection of baked goods, macarons and desserts.

Make it hours are:
Friday, April 20: 4pm to 9pm
Saturday, April 21: 11am – 6pm
Sunday, April 22: 11am – 5pm

* Flavours available and ingredients:

L’Anglais: milk chocolate, cream, Earl grey tea

Le Breton: Salted Butter Caramel: Fleur de sel, sugar, butter, cream

Le Cassis: blackcurrant, white chocolate, cream, butter

“Maca’nuck” / Citron vert: lime juice and zest, butter, eggs

L’Oriental: natural rose water, litchi, white chocolate, cream

Pur Vanille: vanilla beans, white chocolate, cream

Le Yuzu: yuzu juice, cream, dark chocolate

All macarons are made with an almond meringue (egg whites, icing sugar, ground almonds, sugar. A few drops of food coloring except in the vanilla macaron)
